As previously stated the Protectorate share a lot of the Confederacy design and aesthetic, so I'm posting the moldboard for the Confed again as well, so I can easily view both for reference.
Silhouettes:
Going to move on to using alchemy instead of drawing silhouettes in Photoshop, to hopefully get some more creative variation.
Finished Silhouettes
Iterations for capital ship. Following the structure of the Sol Confederacy, I design the practical ship first. The reason I do this is design a ship I feel sums up the factions presence and then extrapolate aesthetics and themes into smaller ships.
I've created iterations on a chosen silhouette to test out paint schemes using the factions colour scheme, which the first two iterations I felt looking too toy-like and juvenile with the use of blocks of colour I referenced a painting by Rob Cunningham (below) to help better implement the colours to look more organized and appealing I feel the middle right image turned out the best as the black stripes going mostly in the same direction is less confusing to look at (from peer review).
